It’s finally happened!
I’ve launched a Gumroad site, where I’ll be posting my own cello arrangements, recordings, and sheet music:
Why have I done this?
Well, for one thing, accumulated musical ideas are burning a hole in my cognitive pocket, and I need to give them an outlet.
But I have another reason.
In my opinion, I don’t post frequently enough over here at Substack (I think) that I can justify my asking for montly paid subscriptions.
BUT, I’d still like to make a financial channel available for occasional support from those of you who have asked, and would like to contribute to my writing.
Gumroad can be that channel.
By offering a public line of free and paid musical products over there, I can open a financial path for one-off donations, of any size and for any subject, without feeling flattened by the subscription-specific obligation of writing more (and more frequent) think-posts over here.
If this works (and it should, I think), my having an active musical outlet at Gumroad should INCREASE my rate of think-posting over here as well.
Writer’s block is a delicate thing.
Pressure is funny stuff.
So, then. How can you help?
If you are so inclined, buy one of my new arrangements!
(if not, it’s okay, I’m still glad you are here)
Hang it on your wall!
Record your own multi-tracked version!
Or just put a recording or two on loop, and relax.
Here again is that link to my new Gumroad homepage.
Thank you all,
